Tickets remain for the Texas Sports Hall of Fame’s 2018 induction banquet on April 7 at the Waco Convention Center. Former Texas A&M quarterback Gary Kubiak, who won a Super Bowl as Denver’s head coach, will be inducted along with former Texas A&I and Chicago Bears running back Johnny Bailey (deceased), former University of Texas volleyball and basketball player Nell Fortner, Mary Hardin-Baylor national championship football coach Pete Fredenburg, Duncanville girls high school basketball coach Cathy Self-Morgan, former Texas Tech basketball player, coach, and athletic director for Gerald Myers, former Texas Ranger baseball player Michael Young, former University of Texas quarterback Vince Young and Olympic medalist and former University of Texas swimming star Jill Sterkel.

Wide receiver Christian Kirk and quarterback Johnny Manziel didn’t play together at Texas A&M, but they performed like veteran teammates at A&M’s annual NFL Pro Day on Tuesday at the McFerrin Athletic Center.

A noticeable change at practices under first-year Texas A&M football coach Jimbo Fisher is no blaring music which has become trendy in recent years with some coaches, including former Aggie coach Kevin Sumlin.

Jimbo Fisher will kick off his first spring training at Texas A&M on Tuesday. A&M will work out four times this week and the four weeks of drills will end with the Maroon & White game at 4 p.m. April 14 at Kyle Field.

You could count on cornerback Nick Harvey being in the starting lineup under former Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin. As a junior in 2016, Harvey started 12 of 13 games, and other than missing a game that season with an injury he saw action in every game in his college career at A&M.

Texas A&M head football coach Jimbo Fisher met with local media to take a variety of questions before opening his first spring practice in Aggieland. Among other topics, Fisher discusses a few coaches who have influenced his style over the years and discusses the Aggie depth chart at various positions.
