HOOVER, Ala. — The Texas A&M women’s golf team shot a 24-over-par 312 for the opening round of the Southeastern Conference championship on Wednesday for 12th place, 26 shots behind leader Alabama.

TULSA, Okla. — Texas A&M senior Maddie Szeryk shot 71 to finish at 2-over 212 to win the Dale McNamara Invitational by two strokes Tuesday at Tulsa Country Club, giving her two victories in a row. Szeryk also won the Bruzzy Challenge on April 3 in Carrollton and is the first Aggie women’s golfer to win back-to-back tournaments since Marijosse Navarro in 2015.

Texas A&M sophomore Dan Erickson was named the Southeastern Conference’s men’s golfer of the week Wednesday, a day after winning the individual title at the 33rd annual Louisiana Classics with a 10-under-par 206. A&M junior Chandler Phillips won the honor last week.
