Following in step with the NFL and several other college athletic programs around the country, Texas A&M has instituted a clear bag policy for all sporting events beginning in August.
All approved belongings brought into any A&M athletic facility must be carried in a clear bag made of plastic, vinyl or PVC. Bags cannot exceed 12 inches (6 inches by 12 inches) and can have a logo no larger than 4.5 inches tall by 3.4 inches wide.
One gallon, clear resealable plastic storage bags are also acceptable.
The only non-clear bags allowed are small clutch bags, with or without a strap, that are the size of a person's hand.
Each fan is allowed to carry one clear bag and one clutch.
The policy change will help create a more secure environment and decrease wait time entering athletic facilities, according to the A&M website. Fans will have to return any non-clear bags that do not meet these requirements to their vehicle before they can enter the venues.
Patrons with medical items or equipment can enter Kyle Field through gates 2, 3, 5, 8 or 9 to have bags and equipment screened before entrance. At sporting events other than football, medical equipment will be screened at the gate.
