Longview quarterback Haynes King pledged to Texas A&M on Wednesday.
“Because we’re somewhat of a pro-style offense [at Longview] and they run a pro-style offense [Texas A&M], we run mostly the same stuff,” the 6-foot-2, 189-pound King told rivals.com.
King, a four-star recruit, picked A&M over Tennessee and several others.
King is the 16th pledge for A&M in the Class of 2020, which is ranked 10th by rivals.com.
King led Longview to a 16-0 season as a junior, leading the Lobos to the Class 6A Division II title,where he was the MVP.
He threw for 3,664 yards by completing 183 of 273 with 33 touchdowns and four interceptions. He rushed for 568 yards on 71 carries with eight touchdowns.
