Former Texas A&M football recruit and A&M Consolidated defensive tackle Josh Ellison will get his first taste of college football at Blinn, Ellison told The Eagle on Tuesday.

The four-star recruit who committed to A&M in February 2018 did not sign with the Aggies due to academic issues, he said.

After a semester playing football and attending class at Blinn, Ellison said he plans to transfer back home to A&M. The plan was approved by the A&M coaching staff, Ellison said.

Should Ellison become a part of the Aggies’ 2020 recruiting class, he will join defensive tackles Dallas Walker, a Rivals four-star recruit, and Isaiah Raikes, a three-star recruit.

“I’m ready to see what it feels like to be in that type of atmosphere on the field,” Ellison said of playing at A&M.
