Former Texas A&M defensive end Jacob Green.

Former Texas A&M All-American defensive lineman Jacob Green will be honored for his upcoming induction into the National Football Foundation College Football Hall of Fame during the Aggies’ game against Alabama on Saturday.

The NFF will present a plaque to Green as part of the NFF Hall of Fame On-Campus Salute, the first of several activities each member of the class of 2019 will participate in on the road to their official induction on Dec. 10 during the NFF Annual Awards Dinner. Green was elected to the Hall as part of the 13-member class in January.

Green was an All-American in 1979 and held school records for career sacks (37) and single-season sacks (20 in 1979) when he left for the NFL. He was drafted in the first round by the Seattle Seahawks and played 18 years in the NFL, racking up 97.5 sacks, which didn’t become an official NFL stat until 1982, giving him an unofficial total of 116.
