MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The Texas A&M men’s golf team finished eighth at the General Hackler Championship on Tuesday at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club.

A&M shot a final-round 294 to finish at 10-over 874. North Florida shot 289 to win at 21-under 843 followed by Wake Forest (16 under) and Liberty (15 under).

A&M freshman Sam Bennett tied for 22nd at 72-217 followed by junior Dan Erickson (t-36th, 74-220), senior Chandler Phillips (t-41st, 74-221), junior Brandon Smith (t-49th, 74-222) and sophomore Walker Lee (t-55th, 76-223).

A&M will compete in the Valspar Collegiate Invitational beginning Sunday in Stuart, Florida.
