Koldus dies: John Koldus III, Texas A&M's former vice president for student services, has died. He was 89. Koldus was appointed vice president for student services in 1973, a position he held for 20 years. Upon his retirement in 1993, the Texas A&M University System's Board of Regents named the student services building in his honor.

Cupp out: A&M freshman tight end Baylor Cupp suffered a broken left ankle during the Aggies' first fall scrimmage Monday and will be sidelined for “a while,” A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher said.

Soccer approaches: The A&M soccer team was picked as favorites to win the Southeastern Conference title in the preseason coaches poll.
