Volleyball honors: The Texas A&M volleyball team earned the 13th seed for the NCAA tournament and will host the first two rounds Thursday and Friday at Reed Arena. Second-year coach Laura "Bird" Kuhn on Sunday was named SEC Coach of the Year by the league’s coaches, and senior outside hitter Hollann Hans and junior setter Camille Conner were selected to the SEC first team.
Academic rates: Retention and graduation rates at A&M are increasing across the board, and rates are higher for first-generation students and students from families making less than $60,000 a year, according to the university.
Acts of service: In honor of former President George H.W. Bush, #41ActsofService — a social media campaign started by alumni of A&M’s Bush School of Government and Public Service — served to motivate others to show selfless love to those in need Saturday.
Offensive woes: A&M’s 169 yards of offense against LSU was its lowest since the 77-0 loss to Oklahoma in 2003 when the Aggies had only 54 total yards. Any reference to that game is never good, Robert Cessna writes.
