SEC Media Days Football

Alabama linebacker Dylan Moses signs autographs during the SEC Media Days in Hoover, Ala. on Wednesday

Alabama's dominance: Robert Cessna writes that Texas A&M is closing the gap on Alabama, but several teams view A&M the same way. South Carolina is winless against the Aggies, having lost five straight since A&M joined the SEC in 2012. Arkansas has lost seven straight games to A&M.

Starkel's new home: Former A&M quarterback Nick Starkel is in the mix to be Arkansas' new quarterback, as Razorbacks coach Chad Morris said at SEC Media Days. “Nick’s won in this league. And he understands what this league is about. So we got a battle going."

New recruit: Longview quarterback Haynes King pledged to A&M on Wednesday. The four-star recruit picked A&M over Tennessee and several others.

Pennington returns: Cliff Pennington, an All-American at A&M who spent 11 years in Major League Baseball, joined the Aggie coaching staff as a student assistant coach, baseball coach Rob Childress announced Wednesday.

Transfer portal: A&M defensive lineman Mohamed Diallo has entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal, according to an athletic department spokesperson.
