Texas A&M senior Jazmine Fray crosses the finish line ahead of the pack in the women’s 800 meters Saturday at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Austin.

Track championships: The Texas A&M women's track and field team finished fourth at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, including a school record in the 4x400 relay. The men’s team finished sixth, and its 4x400-meter relay team also set a school record.

Softball changes: Robert Cessna writes that A&M softball coach Jo Evans is hopeful revamping her staff will help the program overcome a rocky 12 months. Evans is counting on former Florida State hitting coach Craig Snider molding the young hitters.

A&M authors: Codie Wright, a 26-year-old Texan who works as the assistant director at the A&M-based Weston AgriFood Sales Program, and Kerry Litzenberg, an Indiana-born agricultural economics professor at A&M who turns 70 on Monday, recently released Launchers, a book aimed at people ages 18 to 35 who are figuring out how to get their careers started, or, in some cases, relaunched.

Golf tournament: A&M sophomore Amber Park shot a final-round 4-under 68 to finish the three round Porter Cup in sixth place at 1-under 215 at Niagara Falls Country Club.
