Good bull: A U.S. Marine Corps veteran attending Texas A&M and his family were surprised Thursday with gifts from Academy Sports and Outdoors, Texas A&M University and Operation Hat Trick. 

In the running: Texas A&M’s Jazmine Fray and Syaira Richardson qualified Thursday for Saturday’s finals at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Austin. 

On deck: The Texas A&M softball team has hired Florida State hitting coach Craig Snider, who also will serve as recruiting coordinator, to take charge of the Aggie offense.

Giving back: Former Texas A&M outside linebacker and Denver Bronco Von Miller has been chosen to receive the 2019 Jefferson Award for Outstanding Public Service in Sports.
