Quiet zone: The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents unanimously approved to appropriate $4.5 million to create a railroad quiet zone through the A&M campus at the regents’ regular meeting on Thursday.

Football contracts: New contracts for the majority of the A&M football coaching staff were approved by the Board of Regents on Thursday.

Dining facility: Construction of a $15 million dining facility on A&M’s west campus was approved at the regents’ meeting Thursday.

COVID-19 discussion: Three Texas-based public health experts, including a Texas A&M epidemiologist, discussed Thursday the nature of projection models, the importance of continued education about best health practices and the potential dangers of reopening the economy — and society — too quickly. 

New recruit: The A&M track and field team recently signed Duncanville sprinter Sydnee Stewart, who competed in the 100 and 200 meters as well as the sprint relays.
