Students were spotlighted during the virtual ceremony. Graduate Dr. Laura Chahin, who will be doing her residency in obstetrics-gynecology at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, celebrates with her family in Katy.

Graduation day: The members of the Texas A&M College of Medicine’s Class of 2020 marked their final educational milestone virtually Saturday as they celebrated the end of medical school with a Zoom graduation and by reciting the Hippocratic Oath from their homes.

Rodeo role: Former Texas A&M University professor Chris Boleman is taking the reins as the new president and CEO of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

Startup competition: The New Ventures Competition, hosted by Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station, brings together startup companies, all based in science and engineering, from throughout the state to pitch their businesses to judges and potential investors. This year’s event turned to a virtual platform last week due to COVID-19.
