John Comstock, a survivor of the 1999 Aggie Bonfire collapse, says he hopes his story will help others overcome their tragedies.

Remembering Bonfire: John Comstock, the last survivor pulled from the Bonfire collapse on Nov. 18, 1999, said he appreciates the chance to speak to groups about his journey from despair to normalcy. “I’ve felt like if my story can help somebody else — if it can help just one person at a school or in a crowd — then it’s worth it,” he said.

Soccer team wins: The A&M soccer team earned a 2-1 win over Ole Miss Thursday night to close out the regular season at Ellis Field.

UTSA matchup: The Texas-San Antonio football team owns only one victory over a Power Five conference team in its nine-year history, but A&M knows firsthand not to overlook the Roadrunners. A&M struggled to a 23-10 victory three years ago in the only meeting between the schools.

Preseason basketball: The Aggie women's basketball team will kick off a preseason doubleheader against Oklahoma City at 6 p.m. Friday at Reed Arena with the men to follow at 8 p.m. against Texas A&M-Kingsville.
