Texas A&M’s run defense has been stingy this season, but the Aggies will face a tough test against No. 8 Auburn on Saturday.

Defensive challenge: Texas A&M’s run defense has been solid through three games, but the acid test will come against eighth-ranked Auburn in its SEC opener Saturday at Kyle Field. Auburn ranks 11th in the country at 281.7 rushing yards per game. 

Hagler honors: Nine faculty fellows and five distinguished lecturers were formally welcomed into Texas A&M’s Hagler Institute for Advanced Study during a reception on campus Thursday afternoon. 

Soccer team wins: No. 15 A&M beat Mississippi State 3-0 in its SEC opener Thursday night at MSU Soccer Field.

A&M at Texas: The A&M volleyball team will travel to Austin to renew the Lone Star Showdown against third-ranked Texas at 7 p.m. Friday.
