MALIBU, Calif. — Texas A&M sophomore middle blocker Mallory Talbert set a career-high with 13 kills to lead the Aggies to a 25-17, 25-13, 25-19 win over California Baptist on Friday to open the Pepperdine Tournament.

Talbert finished with a .522 hitting percentage and just one error.

Junior setter Camille Conner notched her 20th career double-double with 30 assists and 10 kills, hitting .500. Senior Camila Gomez and freshman Karly Basham each had nine digs with Basham adding two aces.

A&M (2-1) wraps up play in the tournament Saturday, taking on Fairfield at 1 p.m. and host Pepperdine at 8 p.m.
