Memorial services for Texas A&M's retired mascot Reveille VII will be held at Reed Arena in September.

The university announced Tuesday that the memorial will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 6.

Members of the committee that planned the ceremony said they scheduled the service so that students who have returned from summer vacation could attend.

Reveille VII, the American Collie who served as A&M's mascot from 2001 to 2008, succumbed to a respiratory complication in May. She was 12-and-a-half-years old.
