Dec. 22, 2001: "CC," which stands for copy cat, was born at the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. CC was a female domestic shorthair cat and the world's first cloned companion animal. Her DNA is an exact copy of her donor's, but the two differ in markings and personality. With the addition of CC, A&M became the first academic institution to have cloned four different species. In September 2006, CC gave birth to three kittens.
Dec. 22, 1956: David H. Morgan officially resigned as Texas A&M's 14th president. Morgan was president from Sept. 1, 1953, to Dec. 21, 1956.
