May 13, 1974: Happy birthday to former Texas A&M receiver Albert Connell.

Connell played at A&M during the 1995 and 1996 seasons after transferring from Trinity Valley Community College. He finished his collegiate career with 98 receptions, 13 touchdowns and 1,525 receiving yards. During his senior year, he caught a record 18 passes in a game against Colorado.

Connell was drafted in the fourth round of the 1997 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins. He played five seasons in the NFL — four with Washington and one with the New Orleans Saints — finishing with 150 receptions for 2,674 yards and 16 touchdowns.
