In 1996, he had a No. 1 hit on the Billboard country charts with Running Out of Reasons to Run. He joined the supergroup Los Super Seven for the 2001 album Canto. Trevino played the First Yell 2012 concert at Kyle Field before A&M's first SEC game against Florida, along with fellow Aggies Robert Earl Keen and Granger Smith.
