Aggie postWWII memorial

Nov. 8, 1969: The Memorial Mediation Garden was dedicated in front of Duncan Dining Hall. The memorial was funded by cadets in the classes of 1969 though 1973. The memorial paid tribute to more than 400 men who died in combat since the end of World War II (1945).

The memorial was moved to the north end of the Quadrangle in 1976 after the arches were completed, and more names have been added. The monument lists the names of former students killed in action from 1945 to 2001. The plaque displays the John 15:13 scripture: "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

Nov. 8, 2014: A&M upset No. 3 Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium, 41-38. Freshman defensive end Myles Garrett blocked a 41-yard field goal try by Daniel Carlson, with A&M’s Deshazor Everett returning it 65 yards for a touchdown on the half’s final play. Freshman quarterback Kyle Allen, making his second start, passed for 277 yards with four touchdowns.
