Backs Earl Schultz, Gus Street and Walter Hyde returned for the Aggies in coach W.A. Murray's third season. The Aggies began with a 6-0 win over Baylor. They took on the Bears the next week as well, due to a dearth of regional opponents. The Aggies fell, 17-6. In the next two games, A&M lost to Texas by a combined score of 34-0. The team still hadn't scored against the Horns. The Aggies closed out a 1-4 season with another loss to Baylor. After the season, A&M's faculty passed a rule prohibiting intercollegiate sports. Their reasoning was their growing concern with increasing student preoccupation with sports. But the students protested, and the administration reversed the ruling. They did order a permanent student-faculty committee to supervise athletics. That ruling started the Athletic Council.
